Kathamdu-Health and Population Minister Pradip Poudel conducted an inspection of the herbal medicine production at Vaidyakhana in Singha Durbar.
Minister Poudel expressed significant concern about the improvement of Vaidyakhana’s operations. As part of his responsibilities under the new leadership of the development committee, Minister Poudel visited the site to identify appropriate solutions to the issue of underproduction, which had not met expectations.
Accompanied by other officials from the Ministry, Minister Poudel gathered information about the ongoing work at Vaidyakhana and addressed the issues raised by workers. After hearing complaints about the insufficient production of medicine, Minister Poudel urged the team to explore all possible solutions to increase output.
“No matter how much medicine is produced in the market, the medicine from Vaidyakhana will still sell,” he said. “You must bring about a visible change to increase production.”
After hearing the workers’ grievances about limited resources, Minister Poudel referenced the budget recently allocated to Vaidyakhana and clarified that while the government can provide capital support to social institutions, it cannot fund workers’ salaries.
“Tell us what you need to increase your capital capacity, and we will help,” Minister Poudel said. “However, we cannot provide salaries and benefits without increasing production and asking the government for more funds.”
