Four Foreign Nationals Arrested at Tribhuvan Airport with Three Kilograms of Gold-Like Metal



Kathmandu – Police at Tribhuvan International Airport have arrested four Uzbek nationals in possession of 3 kilograms and 745 grams of a yellow metal resembling gold.

The individuals, who arrived last night on a Fly Dubai flight from Dubai, were apprehended while attempting to smuggle the metal through the airport’s customs checkpoint.

The group included three women and one man, identified as 49-year-old Feziva Saudat, 48-year-old Akhmedova Umeda, 54-year-old Marifaliva Dilfuza, and 41-year-old Tursunov Sardor.

According to police, the suspects had concealed the metal in their luggage. They have been handed over to the Tribhuvan International Airport Customs Office in Sinamangal for further investigation. Authorities are working to determine the exact nature of the seized material and the intended destination of the contraband.

This incident highlights ongoing concerns about smuggling activities at Nepal’s sole international airport. Further details are expected as the investigation progresses.
