Kathmandu – The 6th National Agricultural Mechanization Exhibition 2081, scheduled under the slogan “Agricultural Machinery and Technology: Prosperity of Farmers and the Nation,” has been postponed. The exhibition was originally set to be jointly organized by the Government of Nepal’s Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, the Department of Agriculture, the Centre for Agricultural Infrastructure Development and Mechanization Promotion, and the Nepal Agriculture Machinery Entrepreneurs’ Association from 15th–18th Falgun in Butwal.
The postponement is due to the delay in financial support from the United States to the Government of Nepal. USAID’s grant, which had been critical for organizing the event, has been halted for up to 90 days due to a policy issued by President Donald Trump. This suspension has made it impossible to proceed with the exhibition as planned. Additionally, the official USAID website has been inaccessible since Saturday.
According to Krishna Sharma, President of the Nepal Agriculture Machinery Entrepreneurs’ Association, the delay in the financial support—beyond the necessary timeframe for preparation—combined with financial management issues, forced the decision to postpone the exhibition. Apologizing for the inconvenience caused, Sharma confirmed that the exhibition would be rescheduled once further notice is given.
