Remittances Inflow Reached 763.08 Billion by Poush, Increase in People Going for Foreign Employment



Kathmandu- According to statistics published by Nepal Rastra Bank, remittance inflows have increased by 4.1 percent, reaching NRs. 763.08 billion within the first six months (Shrawn-Poush) of this fiscal year. In the same period last year, remittance inflows had increased by 22.2 percent.

In terms of US dollars, remittance inflows have increased by 1.1 percent, reaching 5.58 billion, compared to a 19.5 percent increase during the same period last year.

Similarly, net secondary income (net transfer) has reached NRs. 832.76 billion, up from NRs. 799.54 billion during the same period last year.

Additionally, the number of Nepali people going abroad for foreign employment has also risen. A total of 230,439 Nepali workers, both institutional and individual, have received first-time approval for foreign employment, while 162,628 workers have received approval for renewal. In the previous year, these numbers were 206,390 and 133,940, respectively.
