Lumbini Province Foundation Day to be Marked as a Special Occasion for Three Days

Kathmandu – The Lumbini Province government is set to celebrate the Province Foundation Day as a special occasion. Grand ceremonies will be organized across the province to commemorate the day, with the government also declaring a public holiday in honor of the occasion.

A special event will be held at the Provincial Assembly Secretariat, with the Chief Minister of the province making a prominent appearance. To make the ceremony more captivating, a tableau display featuring musical instruments, cultural performances, and exhibition stalls from various ministries will be showcased.

In a bid to create a ceremonial atmosphere, lights will be illuminated across the Provincial Ministries, Secretariat, directorates, and government offices throughout the province from the 20th to the 22nd of Magh, adding to the grandeur of the occasion.

A tableau display program will feature regional art, culture, and costumes from Sitganga Municipality, Lamahi Municipality, Shivaraj Municipality, Gadhawa Rural Municipality, Rapti Rural Municipality, Rajpur Rural Municipality, and Sarumarani Rural Municipality.

To make the tableau display more competitive, the government has arranged awards. The first-place winner will receive NRs 20,000, the second-place winner NRs 15,000, and the third-place winner NRs 10,000.

In previous years, Lumbini Province celebrated the 21st of Magh as ‘Province Assembly Foundation Day’ and the 3rd of Falgun as ‘Government Foundation Day.’ This year, the provincial government has decided to combine both occasions and officially celebrate the 21st of Magh as ‘Province Foundation Day.’
