The Economy Is Not in a dire Situation as It Was Six Months Ago: PM Oli



Kathmandu – Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli stated that the current state of the economy is not as dire as it was six months ago.

Addressing the meeting of the House of Representatives on Friday, Prime Minister Oli highlighted that economic indicators have improved. He noted that even the worst-performing indices are showing signs of recovery. He further emphasized that the government is actively working to make the economy more dynamic and increase demand.

PM Oli mentioned that the government’s long-standing reluctance to make payments has changed since the current administration took office, with efforts to inject cash into the economy. He pointed out that the construction industry’s legally created but unpaid liabilities of Rs 30 billion from the previous fiscal year have been resolved. Additionally, more than 1.5 million milk farmers in 15 districts received payments within 100 days of the government’s formation.

Prime Minister Oli also shared that, in response to private sector demands, key commissions such as the Economic Reforms Suggestion Commission have been established to reinforce the economy.
