Kathmandu – Reliance Spinning Mill has been honored as the best exporter and employer industry. The Biratnagar Customs Department presented the award to the mill on Sunday, on the occasion of the 76th International Customs Day.
According to the Biratnagar Customs Department, Reliance Spinning Mill, located in Khanar, Sunsari, was recognized for its high export volumes through the Jogbani-Biratnagar checkpoint.
The Customs Department reported that the industry imported finished goods worth NRs 6 billion, 820 million, and 221 thousand through the Jogbani checkpoint, last fiscal year. Additionally, Reliance Spinning Mill was awarded the Excellent Employer Award. The Nepal Foreign Trade Association also honored the mill with a special award for employing a significant number of people in the fiscal year 2080/81.
Established 30 years ago, Reliance Spinning Mill is the largest spinning mill in Nepal. The industry operates two branches, with the other located in Sunsari Duhabi. It has the capacity to produce 42,750 metric tons of yarn annually, including cotton, polyester, viscose, acrylic, and textured yarns. The mill exports large quantities to India and Turkey.
