Minister Dahal Inspects Jabdighat Bridge: New Bridge Construction in Progress



Kathmandu – Physical Infrastructure and Transport Minister Devendra Dahal inspected the Jabdighat Bridge in Bardiya.

Accompanied by the Secretary of the Ministry, Keshav Kumar Sharma, and other technicians, the Minister monitored the damaged bridge on Monday. The bridge was damaged in the middle portion, even before its official inauguration, leading to dissatisfaction among locals regarding defects and weaknesses in the construction.

During the inspection, Minister Dahal emphasized that no defects or carelessness should occur in any project. He stressed the importance of making all parties involved in the construction process accountable to ensure the project is defect-free.

The Ministry informed that, to address the problems faced by citizens due to the damaged bridge, construction of a new bridge is currently underway. Two spans of the bridge were washed away by floods in Shrawan 2074 BS before the bridge’s completion and inauguration.
