Kathmandu– The winter session of the Karnali Provincial Assembly will begin today. All necessary preparations for the fifth meeting under the second tenure of the Karnali Provincial Assembly have been completed, according to the office of the Secretariat of the Provincial Assembly.
A recommendation was made to the Chief of the Province to call the session on 7th Magh, following the Province Council of Ministers meeting on 19th Poush. In line with this recommendation, the Provincial Chief’s office declared the session date on 21st Poush and issued the notice. The session is set to begin at 1 pm.
So far, three bills have been registered in the Assembly Secretariat for the session. According to Information Officer Rajendra Poudel, these include the Bill related to the management of highways in Karnali Province, the Bill related to the Civil Service (First Amendment) 2081 of Karnali Province, and the Bill related to the management of transport in Karnali Province 2081.
Meanwhile, four bills are under discussion in various committees. Information Officer Poudel reported that discussions are ongoing on the Bill to regulate electricity in Karnali Province in the Finance and Natural Resources Committee, the Bill to establish the Karnali Province Police Service in the Provincial Affairs Committee, the Bill to empower the Dalit community and improve living standards in the Social Development Committee, and the Bill to amend the Karnali Province Sports Development Act and the 2076 BS Act. He added that while discussions on these bills are continuing, the provincial government may introduce additional bills if necessary.
