Government Focuses on Strengthening the Economy: Prime Minister



Kathmandu – The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), along with private sector industries, thanked the Government of Nepal and claimed that the recently issued ordinance will improve the nation’s income and business environment.

Today, at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar, in the presence of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel, Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, along with other ministers, and the President of the Federation, Chandra Prasad Dhakal, President of the Confederation of Nepalese Industries Rajesh Kumar Agrawal, and the President of the Federation of Nepali Industries and Entrepreneurs, it was stated that the investment-related provisions in the ordinance are welcomed.

Representatives from the private sector said that this ordinance would be effective in fostering the shrinking economy after COVID-19 and called for rapid implementation with appropriate rules and procedures. They added that, with the management of the ordinance, there would be a revitalization of the private sector. If this momentum continues, it would contribute to the establishment of an investment-friendly environment, thus fulfilling the national expectation of a ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali.’

On the recommendation of the Nepal Government, the President issued four different ordinances on 29th Poush, with ordinances related to land expected to be issued soon. Prime Minister Oli expressed delight in the program, acknowledging the government’s loyalty. Despite rumors of the government’s collapse, he clarified that the ruling coalition is working together and taking effective steps in formulating policies to build the nation.

The Prime Minister stated that all parties share the common goal of national development and good governance, despite some individuals who always oppose for personal interest. He also informed that with good governance and development, supported by practical and friendly policies, prosperity is achievable.
