Police Collect NRs 2.24 Billion in Revenue by Controlling Illegal Activities



Kathmandu- Nepal Police has collected NRs 2,241,120,585 in revenue by controlling various illegal activities from Shrawan to Mangsir in the current fiscal year 2081-82. According to the statistics published by Nepal Police, revenue collection took place across 10 different areas.

The report indicates that the revenue collected through the confiscation of illegal goods amounts to NRs 905,773,926, one of the largest contributions. Similarly, revenue generated from actions against traffic rule violations totals NRs 520,787,000.

The enforcement of court decisions has resulted in a revenue of NRs 427,437,189, while the confiscation of illegal gold and silver brought in NRs 262,967,283. Additionally, the confiscation of illegal currency contributed NRs 43,795,842 to the total revenue.

Other sources of revenue include undisclosed amounts totaling NRs 29,069,034, bill of exchange business yielding NRs 18,304,000, confiscation of illegal timber amounting to NRs 12,070,335, illegal livestock operations generating NRs 11,667,790, and illegal riverine mining bringing in NRs 9,247,181.

The strict actions taken by Nepal Police to curb illegal activities have significantly contributed to revenue management and maintaining the economic discipline of the country. Nepal Police’s commitment to preventing revenue leakage is expected to yield even more effective results.
