6th National Mushroom Day Conference Held at Bhrikuti Mandap



Kathmandu. Today, the 6th National Mushroom Day, Fair, and Food Festival was held at Bhrikuti Mandap, Kathmandu. The event was jointly organized by the Mushroom Producers’ Association Nepal Central Committee, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development of Bagmati Province.

The program featured Agriculture Minister RamNath Adhikari as the Chief Guest. The event was attended by prominent personalities from within and outside the Kathmandu Valley, alongside guests and dignitaries from all seven provinces.

The primary objectives of the program were to highlight the importance of mushroom farming, encourage more farmers to join the growing sector, also to recognize and honor farmers who have significantly contributed to the growth of mushroom farming.

In his address, Chief Guest Minister Adhikari emphasized the positive impact of the increasing production and demand for mushrooms. He called for addressing challenges within the sector and prioritizing technological advancements, research, and diversification in mushroom production.

The fair and food festival featured various stalls showcasing mushroom products, including a range of mushroom varieties for sale. Mushroom pickles, priced between NRs 150 to 600 per bottle, were displayed, along with tools and seeds necessary for mushroom farming.

The fair and food festival is a one-day event, with participants representing all seven provinces of the country.
