Kathmandu – Minister of Industry, Commerce, and Supply, Damodar Bhandari, who is currently visiting South Korea, has expressed his intention to bring Korean capital and technology to Nepal.
Speaking at an event organized to mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Nepal and the Republic of Korea, hosted by the Nepal Embassy in Korea and the Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Minister Bhandari urged Korean investors to consider investing in Nepal.
He assured that the Nepalese government is committed to safeguarding foreign investments in the country.
Minister Bhandari emphasized the need to further strengthen Nepal-Korea relations, particularly in the areas of industry, business, and tourism. He said that he is closely witnessing the physical development, knowledge, skills, and technology of Korea, which is an important trading partner, and he expressed a desire for Nepali people to benefit from the ongoing development in Korea.
The Minister also expressed his gratitude to the Government of Korea and EPS Korea for providing employment opportunities to Nepalese youth in South Korea. He added, “We have started working to increase production and employment in Nepal by utilizing the income earned and the skills acquired by Nepali youth here.”
According to Chief Personal Secretary Anand Bhatt, Minister Bhandari is expected to sign a trade and investment agreement with the Korean government during his visit.
