This Fiscal Year, Supreme Court Aims to Address Eight-Year Backlog and Bring It to Zero

The Supreme Court aims to address the eight-year backlog and bring it to zero within this fiscal year.

Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Prakesh Man Singh Raut, informed during the management hearing on the Court’s lucky draw system on Friday that the Court has devised a plan to address the eight-year backlog stack of 154 cases by the end of Ashar in this fiscal year.

He stated that cases are being settled according to the target of reducing the eight-year backlog to zero by the end of Ashar. He also mentioned that the Court is utilizing the zero hour for institutional improvement.

He added that the Court has initiated the lucky draw system to foster a sense of transparency and accountability.
