Kathmandu. Ncell has been announced as the main sponsor of the Lumbini Lions Club for the ongoing Nepal Premier League (NPL).
The announcement was made at a special event on Saturday in the presence of the club’s Brand Ambassador Rajesh Hamal, team captain Rohit Paudel, England cricketer Tom Moore, and other international players.
The partnership was formalized by Chairman of Lumbini Lions Club, Ishwar GC, and Ncell’s Executive Officer and Managing Director, Jabbor Kayumov. During the event, the team also unveiled their new jersey for the tournament.
Chairman Ishwar GC expressed gratitude towards Ncell for supporting the development of Nepali cricket. He stated, “We are extremely thankful to Ncell, one of the leading private telecommunications companies in Nepal and internationally, for serving as the main sponsor. We are confident this partnership will play an important role in uplifting Nepali cricket and helping the team achieve new heights of success.”
Managing Director Jabbor Kayumov shared similar sentiments, saying, “We are committed to the development of Nepali cricket and nurturing young talent. This partnership is a testament to our dedication. We are thrilled to join hands with the Lumbini Lions Club, aiming to elevate Nepali cricket under our theme, ‘We are with you.’ Through social unity, sports development, and youth empowerment, we hope to achieve new milestones.”
In a unique initiative, the Ncell Foundation announced that for every four hit during the NPL, it will donate educational kits to students in rural areas, emphasizing the company’s commitment to social welfare alongside sports development.
The Lumbini Lions Club’s first match is scheduled for Wednesday. The NPL, which began on Sunday at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, will run until Poush 6. The tournament features eight teams and has gained immense popularity for its competitive spirit and high-profile participants.
