Government Accepts Responsibility for Economic Challenges Post-Formation: Finance Minister Poudel

Kathmandu
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel has declared the government’s readiness to take responsibility for any economic challenges that have emerged since the current administration took office.

Speaking at an event organized by the Society of Economic Journalists (SEJON) on Saturday, Minister Poudel emphasized that the government acknowledges the issues arising under its leadership, headed by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

“We take full responsibility for any economic problems that have developed during our tenure,” Minister Poudel stated. However, he clarified that the government would not seek credit for the positive developments in the economy during this period.

According to Poudel, the administration inherited numerous pressing economic issues but has been working diligently to address them and drive the nation towards progress. “If the appointment of KP Sharma Oli as Prime Minister has added to the economic problems, I will take responsibility for that,” he said.

He added, “The government is committed to resolving these challenges and will not claim recognition for any progress made in addressing them.”

Highlighting the administration’s goals, Minister Poudel affirmed that efforts are underway to accelerate economic improvements. He stressed that restoring confidence in key production sectors and boosting economic activity are among the government’s priorities.

“This government was formed with the vision of addressing longstanding issues and reviving determination in critical areas of production,” Poudel remarked, describing it as one of the strongest governments to emerge from Parliament.

Minister Poudel also underlined the government’s focus on increasing production, solving economic problems, and expanding the revenue base as its primary objectives.
