Kathmandu. The Executive Committee of the Nepal Merchant Bankers Association (NMBA) paid a visit to Santosh Narayan Shrestha, the newly appointed Chairman of the Securities Board of Nepal (SEBON), to express their support and discuss the future direction of the capital market.
During the visit, Ramendra Rayamajhi, Chairman of NMBA, along with the members of the Executive Committee, expressed confidence that Chairman Shrestha would play a crucial role in strengthening the capital market, making it healthy, reliable, transparent, and trustworthy. They highlighted the importance of protecting investors’ rights, ensuring the timely development and expansion of the market, and improving the effectiveness of regulation and supervision, with a focus on incorporating technology.
In response, Chairman Shrestha reiterated his commitment to making the capital market more transparent, timely developed, and technology-friendly. He emphasized his dedication to improving the effectiveness of market regulations and supervision.
The visit took place at the SEBON office and was attended by NMBA’s outgoing Chairman Bijaya Lal Shrestha, Vice Chairman Manish Narayan Joshi, General Secretary Nirmal Bhattarai, Treasurer Shivantha B. Pande, and members Sandeep Karki and Puspa Sharma.
