Agriculture and Livestock Minister Ram Nath Adhikari has revealed that the Ministry is actively working on developing the Investment Decade Action Plan, a strategic framework designed to enhance investment in Nepal’s agricultural sector over the next decade.

Speaking at the Nepal Food Forum 2024, organized by the FAO, Minister Adhikari highlighted the government’s declaration of 2081-2091 as the Investment Decade in Agriculture.

He emphasized that the action plan will focus on mobilizing both public and private investments to modernize the sector, improve productivity, and ensure food security.

The minister outlined key challenges facing the agricultural sector, such as insufficient resources, delayed distribution of seeds and fertilizers, and the increasing impact of climate change.

“The Ministry is in the process of formulating a comprehensive plan to address these issues and capitalize on the potential of the agriculture sector,” said Minister Adhikari.

The Investment Decade Action Plan is expected to focus on attracting investment to key areas, including infrastructure development, modern farming techniques, and climate resilience. The government’s efforts are aimed at transforming agriculture into a vital pillar of Nepal’s economy.
