Ncell Announces Rewards for Palesha and All Nepali Paralympic Participants

Ncell has announced a cash reward for Para Taekwondo player Palesha Goverdhan in recognition of her historic win at the Paris Paralympics 2024, marking Nepal’s highest achievement in the sports field.

Ncell will award Palesha NRs 1 million for her outstanding performance, and an additional NRs 1 million will be shared among all players and coaches who represented Nepal at the Paralympics 2024. This announcement was made in collaboration with the National Paralympic Committee (NPC).

Since last year, Ncell has been involved in supporting the training and development of Paralympic athletes in partnership with the NPC, under the theme “Here for You.”

Expressing her joy, Palesha said, “In this short journey, I met incredible individuals who supported me on my path to success. I want to thank my family, the coaches of the Taekwondo Association, the NPC, my sponsors, and all my friends. I am especially grateful to Ncell, who has been like family to me since the last Asian Para Games, continuously supporting and believing in me. This win marks the beginning of a new chapter in my life, and I am thrilled about the future.”

Ncell’s Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Jabbor Kayumov, expressed his excitement and pride, stating, “Palesha’s historic win is a national pride. Her success reflects the hard work and dedication of all our Para athletes and the nation. We are committed to continuing our support as a source of inspiration and encouragement for our Para athletes.”

Celebrating its 18th anniversary, Ncell has been collaborating with the National Paralympic Committee as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative since last year. Through this program, the company has been providing training and development opportunities for Para athletes representing Nepal on national and international stages.
