Ncell has partnered with the Nepal Association of Travel Operators (NATO) to enhance mobile connectivity for international tourists travelling across Nepal.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Ncell Chief Consumer Business Officer Upanga Dutta and NATO President Bishwesh Shrestha at a programme held at the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) on Thursday.
Under the partnership, Ncell will provide connectivity services to support tourists in staying in touch with family and friends during their travels, while NATO will use its network of travel operators to raise awareness of Ncell’s services among international visitors.
“Leveraging Ncell’s extensive network across the country and NATO’s diverse reach in the tourism sector, this partnership aims to make reliable connectivity a seamless part of the travel experience for tourists in Nepal,” Dutta said.
He said the collaboration would also support the promotion of the #NepalCalling campaign and contribute to positioning Nepal as a preferred tourist destination.
“Tourism, at its heart, is all about connections—connecting people, cultures and experiences. We are delighted to partner with Ncell on this meaningful collaboration, which will help ensure every traveller who visits Nepal stays connected throughout their journey,” NATO President Shrestha said.
As part of the partnership, Ncell, through the Ncell Foundation under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, will support NATO in establishing modern water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) infrastructure along major highway routes.
The initiative will begin with a pilot project in Gajuri, Dhading, and is aimed at addressing the need for adequate sanitation facilities for tourists and local communities travelling along major tourism corridors.
The two organisations said the initiative reflects their shared commitment to promoting sustainable and responsible tourism in Nepal.
