The Nepal Society of Agricultural Engineers (NSAE) and the Nepal Agricultural Machinery Entrepreneurs’ Association (NAMEA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate for the sustainable development and promotion of agricultural mechanization in Nepal.
Under the agreement, the two organizations will conduct practical training programs for graduates who have completed their studies in agricultural engineering. They will also collaborate on joint research and studies related to agricultural mechanization, training programs, technical knowledge exchange, and capacity development.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Jeet Bahadur Chand, President of NSAE, and Krishna Sharma, President of NAMEA.
Speaking after the signing, NSAE President Chand said collaboration between technical professionals and the business sector is essential for the development of agricultural mechanization in Nepal.
He expressed confidence that the partnership would provide newly graduated agricultural engineers with opportunities to gain practical knowledge and experience. He said the initiative would also contribute to developing skilled human resources required in the agricultural mechanization sector.
NAMEA President Sharma said cooperation between the technical and business sectors is essential to make agricultural mechanization more effective and systematic.
He said joint research, training, and the exchange of technical knowledge would help increase the adoption of modern agricultural technologies, reduce farmers’ production costs, and improve productivity.
The two organizations expect the partnership to contribute to the modernization of Nepal’s agricultural mechanization sector, development of skilled human resources, and stronger collaboration among the business, technical, and academic sectors involved in agriculture.

The Nepal Agricultural Machinery Entrepreneurs’ Association (NAMEA) is an umbrella organization representing businesses involved in agricultural mechanization and agricultural machinery. Established in 2071 B.S., the association is registered as a non-profit organization and has more than 440 members across Nepal, including manufacturers, importers, distributors, retailers, and workshop operators of agricultural machinery, tools, and technologies.
NAMEA works to promote agricultural machinery and technology adoption, strengthen the capacity of businesses and technicians, and collaborate with government and development partners to advance agricultural mechanization in Nepal.
