The price of gold in Nepal has reached an all-time high, crossing Rs 250,000 per tola on Thursday.

According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of hallmark (chhapawal) gold rose by Rs 5,900 per tola in a single day. On Wednesday, gold was traded at Rs 244,300 per tola, but on Thursday, it climbed to Rs 250,200 per tola.

Similarly, the price of silver also increased by Rs 170 per tola, reaching Rs 3,345 per tola.

Experts attribute the sharp rise in gold prices to the surge in international gold rates and the strengthening of the US dollar against the Nepali rupee.
