Nepal Showcases Readiness at Asian Tourism Fair in Dhaka

Dhaka — Nepal has extended an open invitation to international visitors, assuring full readiness to welcome tourists, at the 12th Asian Tourism Fair held in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

The event took place at the International Convention City Bashundhara from September 18–20 (Asoj 2–4), where the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) shared the message that “Nepal is ready to welcome tourists.”

This marked the first major international participation of Nepali tourism businesses since the recent Gen-Z movement. Their presence underscored Nepal’s return to normalcy and safety for travelers.

Addressing the inaugural session, Nepal’s Ambassador to Bangladesh Ghanshyam Bhandari highlighted the resilience of Nepal’s tourism industry and its ability to recover quickly despite challenges. He also stressed efforts to strengthen tourism cooperation and people-to-people ties between Nepal and Bangladesh.

The Nepal stall drew large crowds, as participating companies explored new opportunities, renewed partnerships, and showcased travel packages. While many Bangladeshi visitors expressed curiosity about Nepal’s post-movement situation, they welcomed the assurance of stability and safety.

Bangladesh is emerging as a growing market for Nepal. NTB data show that Nepal welcomed about 49,000 Bangladeshi visitors in 2024, and arrivals surged by nearly 32 percent in the first eight months of 2025.

This year’s fair featured 150 organizations from eight countries and 180 stalls. Alongside NTB, 10 Nepali companies participated, including Himalayan Club Tours & Travel, Nepal Big Mountain Travel, The Trek Nepal, Go Nepal Travel Tours & Trekking, Snowy Horizon Treks & Expedition, Classical Adventure Nepal, Himalgiri Travel & Tours, Female Guide Kathmandu, Kathmandu Sweet Home, and Regulus Treks & Expedition.

According to NTB, the participation conveyed a strong message that Nepal is a safe and hospitable destination, helping to strengthen tourism ties between the two countries.
