Kathmandu

With Rasuwa Customs Office shut due to flooding and Tatopani Customs obstructed by a landslide along the Kodari Highway, trade between Nepal and China is now being facilitated through the Korala border point in Nechung, Mustang, which came into full operation on September 15 (Bhadra 30).

According to the Department of Customs, by October 20 (Asoj 4), a total of 209 electric vehicles and 107 cargo trucks carrying goods had cleared customs through Mustang, generating revenue of approximately Rs 344.7 million.

The department also confirmed that the Ashycuda customs automation system is now operational at this border point.

In addition, as per a directive issued by Nepal Rastra Bank on September 16 (Bhadra 31), Mustang Customs has been included under the Integrated Circular 2081, allowing imports through letters of credit (LCs) via Chinese territory, further easing cross-border trade procedures.
