National Flag at Half-Mast in Mourning for Victims of Gen-Z Movement in Nepal

Kathmandu — Nepal’s national flag was flown at half-mast on Wednesday to honor those who lost their lives during the Gen-Z movement.

The decision followed Monday’s Cabinet meeting, which declared a national day of mourning. As part of the observance, flags at Singha Durbar, government offices, and Nepali diplomatic missions abroad were lowered to half-mast.

The government announced that the gesture symbolizes respect for those who attained martyrdom during the movement. In addition to flying the flag at half-mast, the Cabinet also declared a public holiday across the country on Wednesday.

Earlier, the government had officially recognized those who died in the Gen-Z movement as martyrs.
