Kathmandu: An Information Technology (IT) and Engineering exhibition has commenced at Kantipur City College. The two-day event began today and will continue until 1st Bhadra (Monday).
The opening ceremony was graced by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development, Prakesh Man Singh, alongside various distinguished personalities from the relevant fields. CAN Federation President Ranjit Poddar, along with other speakers, highlighted the significance of the IT sector and praised KCC’s initiative during the inaugural session.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Prime Minister Singh congratulated all participants and wished for the exhibition’s success. Addressing the current political situation, he stated, “The coalition government formed by the party with the highest majority and the second-largest party will be more stable and will deliver better performance for the development of the people. All efforts will be carried out through democratic means.”
Suman Katwal, the program’s chairperson, remarked, “When students step beyond the classroom, they perform best under critical situations, provided they have the necessary resources.”
During the KCC conference, Dilip Subbha, Vice-Chancellor of the National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST), urged IT and Engineering students to focus on local and national needs, particularly contributing to the agricultural and industrial sectors, which are crucial to the nation’s economic development.
The exhibition features projects from IT and Engineering students of the college. According to Puja Pokharel, the program coordinator for BBA, “We have invited schools and colleges from across the Kathmandu Valley and expect over 15,000 visitors during the two days.”
She added, “Tomorrow, we have a concert featuring Eleena Chauhan and Jitu Nepal, along with other social media influencers.”
