Kathmandu- Lawmakers from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) boycotted the meeting of the House of Representatives on Friday.
They staged the boycott in protest against the House proceedings held that day. As Speaker Dev Raj Ghimire attempted to move forward with the scheduled agenda, lawmakers from both RSP and RPP stood in opposition and objected to the session’s continuation.
The protest stems from the involvement of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak in the ongoing visit visa scandal. In response, lawmakers from both parties have been demanding the resignation of Minister Lekhak and the formation of a high-level investigation committee.
When the Speaker proceeded with the meeting despite the objection, RSP and RPP lawmakers walked out of the chamber in protest.
