Baseless Propaganda Spread, Claiming Lifetime Benefits for Former VIPs: Minister Singh

Kathmandu – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Urban Development Prakash Man Singh has stated that baseless propaganda has been spread, falsely claiming that the government is providing lifetime benefits to former VIPs.

Speaking at a program organized by the Nepali Congress Palpa District Working Committee on Thursday, Minister Singh said that even as a member of the government, he is unaware of any plans to grant lifetime benefits to former VIPs. He further alleged that such misinformation is being circulated to create trouble for the ruling party by highlighting policies of the previous government.

“It has been said that the state is going to provide lifelong benefits to former presidents and prime ministers. We are also in the government now, but we have no knowledge of such a decision. Which government worked on this, and why is it being brought up now? This will only create problems for the parties involved. Instead of becoming victims of baseless propaganda, we should carefully analyze the situation,” Singh remarked.
