Nepali Delegation Departs for Thailand to Participate in CIAME Asia 2025

Kathmandu, July 22 — A 30-member Nepali delegation led by Krishna Sharma, President of the Nepal Agricultural Machinery Entrepreneurs’ Association (NAMEA), has departed for Thailand to take part in the prestigious CIAME Asia 2025, Asia’s International Agricultural Machinery Exhibition.

Scheduled from July 23 to 25, 2025, this event is organized jointly by the China Agricultural Machinery Distribution Association (CAMDA) and the Thai Society of Agricultural Engineering (TSAE). For the first time, Thailand will host this large-scale exhibition aimed at bringing together agricultural experts, manufacturers, policymakers, and business leaders from Thailand, China, and other Asian countries on a single platform.

The Nepali delegation includes entrepreneurs, suppliers, and technical experts in agricultural mechanization who will observe and evaluate the latest innovations in farming equipment and sustainable technologies.

The exhibition will showcase advanced machinery such as GPS-enabled smart tractors, high-efficiency sugarcane harvesters, eco-friendly rice straw collection systems, and precision drones for targeted fertilizer and pesticide application.

It will also focus on sustainable agriculture through technologies like smart water management systems, precision farming tools, biotechnology solutions to reduce chemical inputs, as well as advanced agricultural waste management and biomass energy technologies.

NAMEA expects that this exposure will strengthen the knowledge, skills, and capabilities of Nepali agricultural entrepreneurs, helping to promote mechanization in Nepal’s largely agrarian economy.

Nepal faces challenges such as low agricultural productivity and environmentally harmful practices like crop residue burning, which contribute to pollution and health issues. Access to modern technologies and best practices at CIAME Asia 2025 is seen as an opportunity to accelerate Nepal’s transition toward efficient, sustainable, and eco-friendly farming.

Before departure at Tribhuvan International Airport, Krishna Sharma emphasized that the event would not only provide access to cutting-edge machinery but also enhance Nepal’s linkages with international markets.

He expressed hope that the participation would foster innovation, reduce costs, save labor, and improve productivity in Nepalese agriculture, thereby supporting economic growth and food security.

CIAME Asia 2025 is recognized as a vital platform for regional cooperation, technology exchange, and the advancement of sustainable agriculture. The organizers have invited all stakeholders, including researchers, policymakers, manufacturers, and business leaders, to engage actively and collaborate on shaping the future of agriculture in Asia.

For Nepal, this exhibition represents a significant milestone toward modernizing its agricultural sector and achieving its sustainable development goals related to agriculture and environmental protection.
