Kathmandu– The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has taken former officials of Pokhariya Municipality in Parsa into custody over complaints of irregularities in the appointment of employees and the approval of various projects during their tenure.
A team deployed from the CIAA’s Central Office in Tangal today apprehended former Chief Administrative Officer Ajay Kumar Shreevastav and Nayab Subba (Non-Gazetted First Class Officer) Sandeep Sah. According to a press release issued by the Commission, the two were taken into custody from Pratima Chowk in Birgunj Metropolitan City-12 and Pragatinagar-3, Parsa.
During the operation, four sets of mobile phones were seized. Additionally, two more sets were collected from the current Chief Administrative Officer Ram Binay Kumar Singh and Ward No. 2 Secretary Om Prakash Chaurasiya.
The Commission has clarified that further investigation is being carried out, including digital forensic analysis of the seized equipment.
