A passenger bus met with an accident at Bakhariya, Tulsipur, Dang, claiming the lives of two people and injuring 35 others.
The bus, bearing number Na 4 Kha 4009, was traveling from Dangisharan Rural Municipality of Goltakuri to Tulsipur. It collided with a school bus from Gyan Jyoti Boarding School, number Ra 1 Ka 870, which was returning from the school. The accident resulted in the deaths of two people.
According to the police, the deceased were 65-year-old Narayan Bhandari and 42-year-old Shanta Khadka Chaudhary, both residents of Dangisharan-2 Rural Municipality.
Rescue teams, including police and local residents, quickly evacuated the injured. Most of the injured are receiving treatment at Rapti Provincial Hospital in Tulsipur and nearby health facilities.
Families and Neighbors from the Same Ward Injured
Most of the injured belong to Dangisharan-2 Rural Municipality. Many are from the same ward, causing the entire community to be left in shock. Locals reported that some passengers were traveling for household purchases, some were going to the market, and others were visiting the hospital — all on the same bus at the same time.
While initial reports suggest that the bus overturned due to loss of control, police have stated that an investigation is ongoing to determine the exact cause of the accident. Authorities are also examining factors such as driver negligence, the technical condition of the bus, and the state of the road.
