Kathmandu — Nepal’s largest organic fertilizer factory has officially started operations in Rohini Rural Municipality, Rupandehi.
The factory, named Go More Fertilizer and Chemical Pvt. Ltd., was established last year by entrepreneur couple Siddharth and Punam Kumari Agrawal of Bhairahawa. They invested NPR 300 million to set up the factory at Ward No. 4, Kothwana, in Rohini Rural Municipality.
The factory has a production capacity of 200 metric tons of fertilizer per day and currently produces 80 metric tons daily under the Ratnam brand.
The industry was officially inaugurated by Chet Narayan Acharya, Chief Minister of Lumbini Province.
Nepal’s annual demand for fertilizer is around 530,000 metric tons. To meet this demand, the country spends approximately NPR 40 billion each year on the import of chemical fertilizers.
