Nepal Sees 57 percent Surge in Exports, 11 percent Growth in Imports



Kathmandu – Based on statistics published by the Department of Customs, Nepal’s exports rose by 57.20 percent, reaching NRs 158.17 billion within the first eight months of this fiscal year. In the corresponding period last year, exports stood at NRs 100.62 billion.

Similarly, imports increased by 11.20 percent, totaling NRs 1.15 trillion during the same period. Last year, the figure was NRs 1.03 trillion.

Nepal’s total foreign trade grew by 15.29 percent, reaching NRs 1.30 trillion in the first eight months of the current fiscal year, compared to NRs 1.13 trillion in the same period last year.

However, the trade deficit widened by 6.22 percent, reaching NRs 987.39 billion, up from NRs 929.61 billion in the previous year.
