Kathmandu– Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli stated that the government, in coordination with concerned bodies, is making work plans and implementing them to ensure the sustainable and effective operation of the Gautam Buddha International Airport.
Answering questions in the House during the meeting, Prime Minister Oli mentioned that the government is progressing with various incentive programs and facilities aimed at the full-fledged operation of the airport. He added that alternatives such as discounts on parking fees for passengers, as well as fees for ground handling, landing, parking, and navigation, have been provided.
Currently, airlines such as Al Jazeera, FlyDubai, AirAsia, and Nepal Airlines are operating through Gautam Buddha International Airport. Prime Minister Oli also noted that to facilitate Nepalis working abroad, the Office of Labour and Employment in Butwal has begun issuing work permits.
Arrangements for immigration, currency exchange, and banking services have been made available within the airport to assist passengers. Prime Minister Oli expressed his commitment to intensifying the construction of additional infrastructure and improving management in the coming days for the full-capacity operation of the airport.
