Attention Diverted to Halt Incidents of Disparity Against Dalits

Kathmandu– Amersh Kumar Singh, an Independent Lawmaker, urged the government to take immediate action to stop incidents such as murder, violence, and discrimination against women and members of the Dalit community. He also demanded that the authorities take action against the culprits.

Speaking at the meeting of the House of Representatives on Thursday, Lawmaker Singh drew the government’s attention to the rising incidents of disparity. He emphasized that women and Dalits are facing continuous and systematic oppression and questioned why such issues persist during the tenure of this government.

He also raised concerns about the provincial government’s silence on the oppression of Dalits in Madhesh Province, asking whether this silence is not a form of power-sharing.
