Kathmandu – The ‘Privatization (First Amendment) Bill 2081’ was presented in the House of Representatives on Wednesday.
Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel introduced the bill during the session.
Earlier, MPs had submitted a notice of opposition to the motion seeking permission to introduce the bill. When the motion was put forward for consideration, it faced opposition from the majority of lawmakers.
The government had previously introduced the Privatization (First Amendment) Ordinance 2081. The newly presented bill serves as a replacement for the ordinance and has now been tabled for further discussion.
