RPP Accuses National Natural Resource and Fiscal Commission of Favoritism in Grant Equalization

Kathmandu- Lawmaker Bina Lama of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has accused the National Natural Resource and Fiscal Commission of favoritism in the distribution of equalization grants. She alleged that grants were allocated to supporters without establishing clear criteria and a proper basis for distribution.

Speaking at a meeting of the House of Representatives, Lama claimed that grants from the US aid project, including USAID, were misused in collusion with the commission. She demanded an investigation, asserting that commission officials were also involved in the alleged misuse of funds.

“It is understood that the National Natural Resource and Fiscal Commission set the basis and criteria for equalization grant distribution based on favoritism. Speaker Sir, without the permission of the commission, USAID grants have been misused, and reports suggest that commission officials were involved in the misconduct. This reflects irresponsibility. Therefore, I request an unbiased investigation into the matter and urge the government to inform the House accordingly,” she stated.

Lama also called on the government to address the allegations and update the House regarding the commission’s involvement in the grant distribution process.
