Fifth National Labour and Employment Conference Begins in Kathmandu



Kathmandu – The Fifth National Labour and Employment Conference, organized by the Ministry of Labour, Employment, and Social Security, commenced today.

The two-day conference (Falgun 26 and 27), is being conducted under the slogan “Expansion of Production and Productivity: A Sustainable Foundation for Internal Development. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli inaugurated the event at Hotel Yak and Yeti.

The conference brings together 500 participants, including government officials from all three levels, representatives from the private sector, trade unions, business communities, researchers, experts, development partners, non-governmental organizations, and youth engaged in employment and productivity enhancement.

According to the ministry, discussions and recommendations from the conference will contribute to amendments in policies and laws to support the long-term national vision of “Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali.”

The government has previously organized similar conferences in the years 2054 BS, 2061 BS, 2069 BS, and 2073 BS.
