Kathmandu – Chairman of the Infrastructure Development Committee, Dipak Bahadur Singh, stated that the Water Resources Bill will be tabled in the House within two weeks.
Speaking at the ‘Integrated River Basin Level Planning and Management for Effective Governance in Nepal’ workshop held in Kathmandu, Chairman Singh stated that the Water Resources Bill will be tabled in the House within two weeks. He added that while the bill has been largely approved, it still requires further consideration.
He expressed his commitment to introducing the Energy Bill in a manner that protects the rights and interests of Nepali shareholders. Singh highlighted concerns over the drying of man-made ponds, attributing the issue to the government’s lack of awareness regarding the importance of water conservation. He stressed that the government has not given enough attention to the potential use of these ponds during the dry season.
Chairman Singh stated that water resources are drying up due to deforestation, emphasizing that it is the duty of every individual to work toward forest conservation.
