Kathmandu – Physical Infrastructure and Transport Minister Devendra Dahal stated that rather than introducing new projects, completing pending projects is the need of the time.
Speaking during the inauguration of a workshop attended by senior officials from the Federal Supervision and Monitoring Office in Surkhet, organized in Nepalgunj on Sunday, Minister Dahal added that the government can introduce new projects as needed and based on available resources, but it should end the practice of neglecting ongoing projects.
“It is a regular process for the government to introduce new plans and projects based on available resources and needs,” said Minister Dahal. “However, from now on, instead of introducing new projects and plans, the focus should be on completing the pending work. We should not allow citizens to be frustrated due to obstructed or chronic projects.”
Minister Dahal instructed that the process should be expedited, and work should be carried out by the Division and Planning Office. He also assured that the Ministry would address performance issues arising from policies and regulations but would not allow work to be disrupted. He added that with a stable government formed through the participation of major parties, there is no chance of failure for the current government.
Secretary of the Ministry Keshav Kumar Sharma, Director General Ram Hari Pokhrel, and other specialists presented an orientation related to project operation and management. Earlier, similar orientations and training were concluded in Pokhara, Morang, and Kathmandu.
