Earthquake Strikes Nepal, No Damage Reported So Far



Kathmandu- A 5.3 magnitude earthquake struck early Tuesday morning at 6:50 AM local time, with the epicenter in the Shigatse region of Tibet, near the Nepal-China border. According to the Emergency Operations Centre, the epicenter of today’s earthquake was situated 90 km away from Nepal.

The earthquake was felt in various districts of the Koshi, Madhesh, and Bagmati provinces. Preliminary reports confirm that no damage to human life or infrastructure has been reported.

Despite strong tremors felt in several districts, including Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, and Bhojpur in the Koshi province, no damage has been reported so far. Similarly, the earthquake was felt across most parts of Madhesh Province, but no damage has been reported.

In the Bagmati province, both Kavre and the northern districts experienced moderate tremors, but no damage to property or loss of life has been reported. The Emergency Operations Centre has urged the public to take necessary precautions to ensure safety.
