Shark Tank Nepal Officially Launches, Reveals the Names of 5 Sharks



Kathmandu. Yesterday marks the official launch of the global entrepreneurial show Shark Tank Nepal.

Along with the show’s launch, the names of the five ‘Sharks’ for the season have been revealed. The list includes Hem Raj Dhakal, followed by Anand Bagaria, Ritu Singh Vaidya, Saurabh Jyoti, and Cabinet Shrestha.

Himalayan TV is the official platform with the authority to broadcast the show. The main objectives of Shark Tank Nepal include boosting entrepreneurship, creating job opportunities for economic growth, fostering cultural influence, and providing exposure for startup businesses.

Young entrepreneurs and startups will have the opportunity to seek guidance and investment from the successful and established business leaders known as ‘Sharks’. Cabinet Shrestha, CEO of Agni Group, stated that Shark Tank Nepal welcomes and promotes both innovative ideas and entrepreneurial skills to help boost the growth of businesses.

Hem Raj Dhakal added that while Shark Tank Nepal primarily focuses on fostering young entrepreneurship, it remains open to established businesses seeking investment opportunities.

Shyam Kadel, Executive Director of Himalayan TV, shared that preparations for the show had been underway for the past six years. However, the launch was delayed due to the impacts of COVID-19 and the subsequent economic challenges.

Despite the delay, Kadel expressed optimism about the show’s success and its potential to help startups and young entrepreneurs grow. With the official launch of Shark Tank Nepal, the country becomes the 54th nation to host and showcase the entrepreneurial show globally. Sony Pictures is the global franchise for the program. Organizers have also revealed that the investment for the show has exceeded $6 million.
