Kathmandu . Three financial journalists from the Nepal Association of Financial Journalists (NAFIJ) were honored for their exceptional contributions to investigative journalism during the association’s 15th Annual General Meeting and 7th General Assembly.
The awards recognized outstanding investigative reports on diverse economic topics, presented in three categories: the CBFIN-NAFIJ Economic Journalism Award, CBFIN-NAFIJ Banking Award, and Dhundiraj-NAFIJ Economic Award.
Amrit Chimiriya of Online Khabar received the CBFIN-NAFIJ Economic Journalism Award for his report highlighting the challenges faced by milk farmers. He was awarded NPR 50,000 in cash along with a certificate.
Anup Acharya of Taksar Magazine was honored with the CBFIN-NAFIJ Banking Award for his investigative report on bank counter guarantees. He also received NPR 50,000 and a certificate.
Lokendra Biswakarma of Ukaloo.com earned the Sharadadevi-Dhundiraj Bhattarai NAFIJ Economic Journalism Award for his report on irregularities in the President’s educational reform project. He was presented with NPR 100,000 in cash and a certificate.
The awards were handed out by the Minister for Information, Communications, and Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, in recognition of the journalists’ dedication to exposing critical issues and contributing to economic journalism in Nepal.
