Last Monday of Shrawan: Flock of Devotees at Pashupatinath

Kathmandu: Today, being the last Monday of the month, a large number of devotees gathered at Pashupatinath from early morning to offer worship to Lord Shiva.

The month of Shrawan is considered the holiest, entirely dedicated to Lord Shiva, with Mondays being especially auspicious for offering prayers and worship. On this day, devotees observe fasting.

Married women fast for the long life of their husbands, while unmarried women fast to attain a husband of their choice.

The last Monday of Shrawan holds special significance, as devotees end their month-long fasting, particularly on this day.

Many devotees walk barefoot from various parts of Kathmandu to Sundarijal to fetch water, which they then offer to Lord Shiva at Pashupatinath and other Shiva temples.

All four gates of the temple are kept open for worshippers today. Additionally, hundreds of devotees, dressed in saffron robes, arrived at the temple early this morning.

According to the Pashupatinath Area Development Trust, arrangements have been made for health camps, drinking water, and worship management for the devotees and visitors.
